species for your solid wood
chest. We've grouped them to help you select by color,
durability, appearance, etc.Fine craftsmanship takes time and we offer that for you. Every board in each cedar hope chest deserves individual artistic evaluation. Hardware A gleam of brass can add a look of
distinction to your home.Personalize your chest with an oval or rectangular brass nameplate, engraved with an enduring sentiment or name to create a unique gift. Secure your chest with a lock made in England with your choice of antique or bright brass escutcheon. Add a pair of brass lifts to handle your chest more easily. |
Interior Even the interiors can be customized to maximize your chest's usefulness. Aromatic cedar lining provides that pungeant aroma that is pleasant yet repels insects. Chests can be fully lined or have just the floor or a tray made of cedar or no cedar at all. Unless specifically requested, most of our hope chests have no finish on the interiors. Each of our chests is signed and dated by D. Andersen, mrcedar himself! Our commtiment to quality makes your cedar chest special for your loved ones for generations. |
Finish Nearly all our chests have hand rubbed Velvit Oil, a specially formulated product that stains, fills, seals, protects, and beautifies all in one coat. Two coats are applied to give more luster and depth to the wood, then a Lemon Oil polish is rubbed in. .Oil finish resists alcohol, hot liquids, common stains and will never crack, or peel. Occasionally a client asks for a whitewash or other look. We aim to please. Ask for samples to help you choose what looks best in you home. Actual wood pieces will be sent for $25, which will be refunded or applied to the purchase price when returned. |
Custom
Options Let us make your
